Dates and outcomes below follow FOBBV's official history, reference, and dated Eagle Log.
Ricky and Lucy raised the unbanded chick first called Jack and later Jackie. Because the bird was not tagged, FOBBV explains the later identification through plumage age and repeated local observation.
After planning, fundraising, and Forest Service permits, FOBBV installed the camera. Ricky and Lucy used a different nest in the following breeding season.
Jackie and Mr. B hatched Stormy and BBB; Stormy fledged and BBB was lost after severe weather. An adult male intruder arrived and retained the name Shadow, though he was not the earlier chick with that name.
Both chicks hatched. Cookie was lost after a rain and snowstorm; Simba fledged and was later identified outside the valley through his band.
One of two eggs hatched. Spirit fledged successfully after the pair's unsuccessful nesting attempts in 2020 and 2021.
Misty, Sunny, and Gizmo hatched. Misty died during a multi-day storm; Sunny and Gizmo both fledged, the first two-chick fledge season for Jackie and Shadow.
Two chicks hatched on April 4 and 5. Both made first flights by the end of June and continued to be observed in the territory as fledglings.
Jackie died after more than three weeks in intensive veterinary care. FOBBV said the comprehensive statement was still being prepared and that her remains had been transferred to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
