Find the next useful doorway.
The Aviary is part field guide, part observation deck, and part set of bird-facing experiments. You do not need to understand the whole map before using it. Start with the question you have, then follow the context links without losing your way back.

Understanding the Human and Bird sides
The Human Field Guide is for reading, comparing, planning, and following sources. Its menu groups articles into Choosing, Living, Discovering, and Experiencing. The Bird Companion Suite is intentionally simpler: large touch targets, consistent positions, and caregiver controls kept away from the main play surface.
The doorway splash separates those experiences so a curious reader does not land inside a bird-operated game, and a bird does not need to navigate a library of human articles. The shared Home and doorway links are the bridge between them.
When you are not sure where a subject belongs
Start in Human Home. Species answers “who is this bird?” Care and Habitat answer “what conditions support them?” Learn looks at communication and behavior. History follows birds through deep time and culture. Watch and Listen help you evaluate media and sound. Rescue and Emergency are separate because their questions become more consequential, more quickly.
If a page looks stale, a link has moved, or a feature behaves differently from its description, use the Contact page to see the current correction route. The guide is meant to make uncertainty visible, not disguise it.
