Safe-use checklist

Keep the sound meaningful and easy to leave

  • Test away from the bird firstSet device volume low and check for clipping, sudden starts, or harsh frequencies.
  • Pair one tile with one predictable outcomeA label is useful only when caregivers respond consistently and the bird is free not to engage.
  • Protect the deviceUse a mounted, bird-safe interface if this progresses beyond caregiver testing. Phones and loose cables are not chew-safe toys.
  • Never use sound to interrupt by startlingThe board should support communication or enrichment, not punishment or forced exposure.

Until the board gains an explicit export feature, keep a separate note of each tile's wording and intended response. Browser storage is convenient for testing, but it is not a durable care record or a substitute for consistent human communication.
